PILOT MUM ON NEW PARTY AT KEY MEET

The speculation about dissident Congress leader Sachin Pilot floating his own political outfit, drew a blank with the young leader only reiterating his demands to be met by the Ashok Gehlot government. A memorial service, like every year, was held, with prayers at the statue of his late father Rajesh Pilot and the unveiling of a new statue at a Gujjar hostel.

The programme was eagerly watched due to the buzz that it could mark a new chapter in Rajasthan politics. Addressing the gathering, Mr Pilot said: "I have spoken up for a better future for youth. People here have always supported me. My voice is not weak, I will not step back. The nation needs the politics of truth. I don't want people to play with the future of youth. My policy is clear, I want clean politics." He said that as Rajasthan Congress chief, he had taken on the BJP when it was in power in the state.

He said the people's trust was his "biggest asset" and asserted he will keep fighting to get them justice and not back down on his demands. He has been attacking the Ashok Gehlot Congress government in Rajasthan over alleged inaction into charges of corruption, levelled by him against the previous BJP government led Vasundhara Raje.
