Pak Firing Thwarts Retrieval of One Terrorist's Body

Srinagar: Security forces killed three terrorists in a two-hour-long gunfight while they were trying to cross the Line of Control in the Hathlanga Nala area of Uri sector in north Kashmir's Baramulla district on Saturday, but one body couldn't be retrieved due to heavy Pakistani firing.
The fresh infiltration bid comes even as a seek-and-kill operation against four
terrorists of a Lashkar-e-Taiba shadow group entered the fourth day on
Saturday. An Army Colonel, a Major, a soldier and a J&K Police DSP have
been killed by terrorists of The Resistance Force since Wednesday. Saturday's
shooting began when security forces conducted a search following inputs about terrorist groups planning to
infiltrate from across the LoC, said a police officer.
Infiltrators - നുഴഞ്ഞുകയറ്റക്കാര്. (a person who secretly becomes a member of a group or goes to a place, to get information or to influence the group)
Gunfight - വെടിവെയ്പ്പ്. (a fight involving an exchange of fire
with guns.)
Thwart – വിഫലമാക്കുക (to stop something from happening or
someone from doing something)
Retrieve - വീണ്ടെടുക്കുക, തിരികെകൊണ്ടുവരിക. (to find and bring back something)
Terrorist – ഭീകരവാദി (someone who uses violent action, or
threats of violent action, for political purposes)
Security forces - സുരക്ഷാ സേന (soldiers and police who are responsible
for maintaining security in a city, region, etc.)
Infiltration bid - നുഴഞ്ഞുകയറാനുള്ള ശ്രമം (attempt to pass through an enemy line; in a military
conflict/evade)
Conduct a search - തിരച്ചില് നടത്തുക. (try to locate)
Woods – വനം (an area of land, smaller than a forest, that is
covered with growing trees/forest)
Surrounding – ചുറ്റുമുള്ള (all round a particular place or thing.)
