JKP INSPECTOR SUCCUMBS TO INJURIES AT AIIMS

Inspector Masroor Ahmad, a courageous officer of Jammu and Kashmir police, targeted by an unidentified terrorist at the Eidgah ground in downtown Srinagar on October 29 while he was playing a game of cricket, Thursday succumbed to his fatal injuries at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi.
He was airlifted to AIIMS on Wednesday and was on life support.
The police officer was undergoing treatment at the Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences, Soura. He is survived by his pregnant wife, father, and brother.

The Director General of Police, J&K R.R. Swain has condoled the heroic loss of Inspector Masroor Ahmad. In his message, the DGP said, "as the Director General of Police, it is with profound sorrow that I extend my heartfelt condolences on the tragic loss of Police Inspector Masroor Ahmad Wani?" The courageous officer valiantly served amidst the looming threat of terrorism, the DGP said.

"The cowardly attack on a policeman, enjoying a moment of leisure, is a stark reminder of the vicious mindset perpetuated by terrorist networks operating at the behest of Pakistan.

This tragic incident has strengthened our resolve at the J&K Police to redouble our efforts in combating terrorism", DGP added.
